What actually differs
Both providers run your Google Tag Manager server container for you and both are European, so neither of those is the difference. The pricing model, the request allowance and what sits outside the base price are.

List prices only, VAT excluded. Request counting is similar but not identical between providers, so treat any conversion as approximate. Addingwell states it counts "incoming requests sent to your Google Tag Manager container", including script downloads such as gtm.js, analytics.js and gtag.js, but not outgoing requests, which is close to how we count. Take your real monthly number from the dashboard you use today before you compare.
When Addingwell is the better choice
There are cases where we are not the right answer. Better you read them here than find out after you have moved.
Your traffic is genuinely small
Their free plan covers up to 100K requests a month with no credit card and no trial clock. We do not have a free tier, only €10 in starting credit. If you run one small site and expect it to stay small, their plan costs nothing and ours costs €15.
You want tagging and consent from one vendor
Addingwell is part of the Didomi group, so server-side tagging and consent management can come from a single supplier under a single contract, with tag level monitoring in the same interface. We host containers and work with whichever CMP you already use. If consolidating vendors is the goal, that is a real argument.
You want someone on the phone
They list email, live chat and phone support. We answer by email. If your team wants to pick up a phone when a conversion tag stops firing, that difference matters more than a line on the invoice.
Where we win is the moment you outgrow their free plan, and the moment you run more than one website. A flat €15 per container with 10 million requests included, and no add-ons for a second website, a second domain or a second region.
Moving a container takes minutes
Your configuration lives in Google Tag Manager, not with your host. Moving it means pointing the same container somewhere else.
Create the container
Paste your GTM server Container Config into the Tracking Hippo console. It is the same config you already use today.
Point the CNAME
Move the DNS record for your tagging subdomain, for example sgtm.yourdomain.com, to your new container.
Verify, then switch
Check that events arrive, then update the server URL in GTM. Your web container and your tags stay untouched.
Your container reads custom headers?
Map the header names your container reads today onto ours, and both names arrive on every request. Nothing in your tag setup has to change on the day you move, and you can repoint the variables whenever it suits you.
No lock-in either way. Because the configuration stays in Google Tag Manager, moving back is the same three steps in reverse.
